Celebrate the heroes of the kitchen with National KP Day

Warewasher specialist Winterhalter is calling for kitchen crews to get involved with National KP Day on 22nd June by snapping a picture of their kitchen porter and tweeting it using the hashtag #kpday.

For every tweet, Winterhalter will donate £1 to Springboard, a charity that helps young and disadvantaged people gain employment in the hospitality industry, up to a maximum of £1,000.

A special prize will be given to the team that goes the extra mile to celebrate their kitchen porter.

Stephen Kinkead, managing director of Winterhalter UK, says: “We’ve had some cracking photos on National KP Day over the years. We’ve also raised a lot of cash for this very worthwhile cause – so get snapping!”

KP Day falls during the quest to find the 2018 KP of the Year, an outstanding kitchen porter who inspires and motivates others.

If you’ve got a kitchen porter who goes beyond the call of duty, has taken on extra duties or achieved internal awards and recognition, nominate them at www.kpoftheyear.com.  The deadline is 3rd August 2018.
