Miller’s Fish and Chips in Haxby, York, has paired up with local gin company York Gin to create a three-course menu cooked in the popular tipple.
The one-off menu, which is being served up on the evening of Thursday 29th November, comprises king prawns sautéed in York Gin with pickled ginger, a lite-bite portion of Miller’s award-winning fish and chips fried in a special York Gin batter, and York Gin infused lemon curd tart served with a York Gin & Tonic syrup.
Nick Miller, co-owner at Miller’s Fish and Chips, said: “Our head chef James has worked hard to put together a menu that showcases how seafood with gin can make a really delicious combination.
“York Gin Company has a stunning and diverse range of gins, which we will feature alongside our award-winning seafood so our customers can experience a fantastic range of flavours. We take great pride in being a Yorkshire business and this event is a great celebration of the culinary magic that can happen when two York businesses work together in absolute synergy.”
Emma Godivela, director at York Gin Company, adds: “York Gin was created to celebrate the unique history of York so it makes perfect sense to team up with a fourth-generation, family-owned fish and chip shop with over 75 years of history! We’re sure everyone attending on the night will love the selection of our gins we’ve carefully chosen to pair with Miller’s award-winning seafood.”
The owners of Miller’s Fish and Chips and York Gin Company will host a Q&A on the night as well as explain more about the history of their respective companies.
