Amity Fish Company shortlisted for two national awards

Scottish seafood supplier Amity Fish Company has been named a finalist for two national awards.

First up, the Peterhead-based company has been nominated for Food and Drink Business of the Year at the Made In Scotland Awards. Held in conjunction with the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), the awards recognise companies and individuals that have found success both domestically and internationally and will be announced on Thursday 19th May.

The second accolade it hopes to walk away with is Small Producer for its IQF Hand Peeled Scottish Langoustine Tails at the Scottish Food and Drink Retail Awards. One of 140 Scottish food and drink products to have made it onto the shortlist, Amity will have to wait until the end of the month to find out if it has been successful.

While praising the dedication of a small team working together for making the Made In Scotland Awards, Amity managing director Jimmy Buchan, said of being shortlisted for the Scottish Food and Drink Retail Awards: “Langoustine is one of Scotland’s most valuable seafood products. To have the peeled langoustine shortlisted is exciting for Amity but also a great step in retaining the value of this product here in Scotland.

“Our aim was always to have more people eating and enjoying peeled langoustine tails. Another wild-caught product made in Scottish seas for all to enjoy and one of my personal favourites.”

Amity’s nominations follow a successful start to 2022, having already won Digital/E-commerce Business of the Year at the Scottish FSB Awards in March.
