A takeaway in Kent is the latest fish and chip shop to achieve gluten free accreditation from Coeliac UK.
Catch Fish and Chips is delighted to be awarded an "A-rated" accreditation by the charity, which means it follows all the correct preparation and serving processes to produce safe gluten free meals at its takeaway in Ashford.
A dedicated gluten free menu is available every Wednesday as well as after 5pm on Saturdays, with options including fish and chips, fish roe, fishcakes, sausages, chicken quarters, mushy peas and cheese bites.
Since introducing the gluten free menu, Catch crew manager Kevin Hill says demand has increased significantly, adding: "We are delighted with the feedback we get from customers who suffer with coeliac disease that they can enjoy the delicious taste of Catch fish and chips with the full confidence that they are safe to eat.”
He adds: “Customers can order grilled fish at any time, though our gluten free Wednesdays and after 5pm on Saturdays are very popular."
Catch sources its cod and haddock direct from Marine Stewardship Council accredited sustainable fishing grounds in the Barents Sea where it is frozen at sea on the Granit fishing vessel.
