Double A Kebab gains BRC accreditation

Fish and chip shops buying from Doube A Kebab can have complete trust and assurance in its products following the news that its Nottinghamshire-based premises has gained BRC A Grade accreditation.

The accreditation is the global standard for food manufacture where manufacturing practices, traceability and hygiene are constantly monitored at the highest level.

Operations manager Martyn Hayward, who spearheaded the project, says: “It’s been a shift in working practices but the staff at Double A have really responded well to the additional workload required in their day to day duties. It’s good to have a team wanting to work to the highest standards. Knowing that we are now manufacturing to the hygiene and labelling levels required for selling to supermarkets really does add a large element of trust to the Double A brand.”

Double A has also invested over £100,000 in the factory and warehousing, setting it up for the future growth in both foodservice and retail.

As well as seven different varieties of kebab meat, Double A also manufacturers the Keburger, a premium grade beef burger with the company’s famous kebab spice.

Double A Kebab achieved BRC A Grade accreditation on its first attempt with the help of Ian Trevor at the BRC Consultancy firm Foodfix.
