Londoners have voted fish and chips as their city’s most iconic dish.
Over 38,000 readers cast their vote as part of Time Out magazine’s global search for bucket list dishes all around the world.
Battered cod and chips with a side of mushy peas topped the list for Londoners, beating Sunday roast, curry and pie and mash, which came second, third and fourth respectively.
In Edinburgh, locals championed haggis, neeps and tatties, while for Brummies it was about the balti.
In Chicago, locals were craving deep dish pizza, in Sydney it was rock oysters in demand while in Rome carbonara was named king.
