Fishermen’s Mission launches coronavirus appeal

Maritime charity The Fishermen’s Mission is appealing to members of the fishing community to get in touch if they are facing difficulties as a result of coronavirus.

The charity, which has supported fishermen and their families for 140 years, can assist with advice as well help accessing further financial support and grants specifically aimed at fishing families and fishermen’s children.

Ali Godfrey, director of business development for the Fishermen’s Mission, says: “We know how difficult life is at the moment. We also know that asking for help is never easy. Today I am appealing to fishermen, to their wives and partners and to wider members of fishermen’s families who are facing difficulties to make a call to the Fishermen’s Mission. We are always here to listen and give practical guidance. The support we can give you may make all the difference. Together, we can get through this crisis, so do not hesitate, call us today.”

Anyone wanting to support The Fishermen’s Mission can donate £2 by texting AFLOAT to 770085.
