The Food Standards Agency has launched a package of guidelines for food businesses to help them trade safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Here to Help’ offers businesses practical information to help them adapt as lockdown is eased and they re-open (either in the same format or having diversified), as well as helping new start-up businesses with little understanding of how to trade compliantly.
The guidelines cover a range of areas including registration, risk assessments, allergen information, diversification and more. It outlines the hygiene processes and requirements food businesses must follow as they develop new ways of working. For example, for those wanting to offer a takeaway service it details everything from how to take orders to delivering food safety.
