Lincolnshire villages get faster broadband and free fish & chips
Two Lincolnshire chippies will be offering residents free fish and chips this Friday courtesy of rural broadband provider Quickline.
Upton Fish Shop in Upton and The Elite Fish & Chip Company in Ruskington have been drafted in by Quickline as it installs faster broadband services to homes and businesses in the two villages.
Residents simply register their details online to receive a voucher, which can be redeemed on Friday 10th February for one free portion of fish and chips.
Julian Chalk, head of enablement and engagement, said: “We’d love as many residents as possible to have a cheer-up chippy tea on us and enjoy a treat at what can be a challenging time of the year. “We know times are tough and the cost of living is rising for many people and this is a small gesture from us to help out and lift spirits. “We love getting involved in all sorts of community events and initiatives and this fish and chips giveaway is another example of us giving back to the rural areas we serve.”
Sally Clarke, owner of Upton Fish & Chip Shop, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Quickline to offer free fish and chips to people in Upton. We’ve had the chippy for 16 years, when the shop came up for sale at auction and we were the winning bidder. “When Quickline got in touch with us to ask if we’d be interested in supporting the scheme, it was a no-brainer – who doesn’t love fish and chips on a Friday, especially when they’re free!?”
