McDonald's has closed all of its 1,300 restaurants across the UK and Ireland to walk-in customers following lockdowns in England and Scotland.
The announcement was made in a statement on social media at 8pm last night in which it reassured customers it remains open for for drive-through and delivery.
Bosses at McDonald's said its restaurants will be closed for the foreseeable future while “we review and verify any additional enhanced safety measures for these services”.
They also warned that due to smaller teams and social distancing in the kitchen, orders may take longer to process.
The statement added: “Our restaurant teams are working incredibly hard in difficult circumstances, your kindness and patience is greatly appreciated.”
