Award winning chippy Simpsons is opening a second outlet in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
The town centre takeaway, which is 15 miles from its Cheltenham restaurant, is expected to open in the summer with the same core values. All the cod and haddock, for example will be MSC certified, food waste will be collected, while food will be fried in sustainable groundnut oil on a high efficiency frying range.
It is expected to have the same cool, designer feel too, with interior designer Shadowplay, who refurbished its Cheltenham site in 2016, being called in once again.
James Ritchie, director of Simpsons Fish and Chips, comments: “We’re very excited to announce that Simpsons will soon be expanding its reach across the county with the launch of our very first fish and chips establishment outside of Cheltenham, with a brand-new Simpsons takeaway set to open on Stroud’s Bedford Street this summer.
“Stroud itself is a place very dear to our hearts as Jan Simpson grew up in the town, launching her first fish and chip shop in Stonehouse back in 1976, so it certainly feels like we’re heading home.
“We can’t emphasise enough how much we’re looking forward to launching and really look forward to getting to know the fantastic local community!”
