Walk-in orders are allowed, says latest advice

Fish and chip shops can take walk-in orders after the government updated its guidelines for takeaways at the weekend.
A ban on over-the-counter orders was introduced on March 26th in a bid to prevent large queues forming outside takeaways. However, the government has relaxed its advice, but says shops should still encourage customers to order online, by app or by phone.
The current guidelines state that customers waiting to order or collect should wait in a designated area where a two-metre distance from other people can be maintained. If this is not possible, customers should enter the premises one at a time and only when their order is ready to be made or collected.
It also recommends staggering collection times to discourage crowding outside the premises. Where queuing is taking place, queue management systems should be used to maintain a two-metre distance between people.
