To mark 160 years of fish and chips this year, the NFFF has partnered with Seafood Norway to run a customer-facing competition offering a trip to Norway.
Shops simply encourage their customers to enter online where they must answer three fish and chip themed questions and recommend their favourite chippy.
Not only will one lucky customer win a trip, but also the shop they nominated.
Both will receive a two night stay for two people to Ålesund, the port city of Norway and home to a fleet of fishing vessels supplying sustainable wild cod and haddock to chip shops across the UK.
The winners will go onboard a vessel and experience the pristine Norwegian fjords as well as meet the hardy Norwegian fishermen who spend their lives out at sea sustainably harvesting and freezing cod and haddock.
A toolkit has been produced a help shops market the competition, which includes the 160 years logo, social media imagery and posters.
Shops wishing to be kept up-to-date with activities surrounding the 160 year anniversary should register their details on the website by clicking here and, if they feel they qualify, nominate themselves as the NFFF searches for the UK’s oldest chip shop, the longest serving fish and chip shop worker and a community hero.
